HOW IT FITS
INSIDE THE HEAD.

The decoy is the outer shell. Jay has used the linked replacement boat and confirmed the fit: the boat sits inside the head and supplies the motor, steering and radio control.

    OPEN THE HOLLOW SHELL

    PREP THE INNER CAVITY.

    The replacement boat is approximately 16.06 × 4.53 × 3.46 inches and fits lengthwise inside the linked 22-inch decoy. Use the hollow underside of the head; if your received version is closed, carefully trim an opening only large enough to accept the boat.

    NO BLOCKED DRIVE PARTS

    POINT THE BOW INTO THE SNOUT.

    Center the boat inside the head with its bow facing forward. The stern, propeller, rudder and cooling-water openings must remain completely exposed behind and below the shell. Never run the motor with the propeller obstructed.

    KEEP THE BOAT SERVICEABLE

    CRADLE IT—DON’T DRILL IT.

    Use a fitted closed-cell foam cradle and removable outdoor-grade straps or hook-and-loop fasteners anchored to the decoy shell. Do not drill through the waterproof RC hull. Keep the battery hatch removable for charging, drying and inspection.

    BALANCE BEFORE SPEED

    FLOAT-TEST AT LOW THROTTLE.

    Test the build in calm, shallow, controlled water with nobody nearby. Shift the cradle or add small pieces of closed-cell foam until the head rides level and the drive system stays clear. Begin at the lowest practical throttle—the replacement boat is much faster than the original setup requires.
